New Museum Highlights: Southeast Asia's Largest Military Memory Repository The old military museum was located in the city center (next to the Flag Tower), but it was no longer adequate. The brand-new museum is located in Nam Tu Liem District, west of Hanoi, and covers a vast area. The outdoor plaza displays a massive C-130 transport aircraft, Chinook helicopters, and various artillery and armored vehicles, creating a strong visual impact.
Four National Treasures These are definitely the museum's treasures and must-see items:
MiG-21 Fighter Jet (Serial No. 4324): Known as the "Silver Swallow," the 14 red stars on the nose represent the 14 American aircraft it shot down. This aircraft hangs in the center of the main hall, symbolizing the bravery in defending the airspace.
MiG-21 Fighter Jet (Serial No. 5121): This aircraft shot down an American B-52 strategic bomber during the famous "Hanoi-Haiphong Air Battle" in 1972, creating a miracle in military history.
T-54B Tank (Serial No. 843): This is the legendary tank that first crashed through the iron gate of the Independence Palace (now the reunification palace) on April 30, 1975, marking the official end of the Vietnam War and the unification of North and South.
Maps and Battle Plans Used in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign: Showcasing how General Vo Nguyen Giap planned this world-shocking battle to defeat the French forces.
Immersive Historical Experience The museum utilizes modern 3D projections and interactive screens to recreate scenes from key battles.
Battle of Dien Bien Phu: Through sand tables and sound and light effects, it restores how the Vietnamese army disassembled artillery and pulled it up mountains by manpower to encircle the French forces.
Ho Chi Minh Campaign: Displays the final attack route map of the North Vietnamese army liberating Saigon.
Aircraft Wreckage Tower: A sculpture made from the wreckage of downed French and American aircraft, silently telling the harsh cost of war.

Visiting Hours: Due to the large exhibition area (four floors indoors and outdoors), it is recommended to allocate 2.5 to 3 hours for a complete visit.
Dress Code Suggestions: The museum is a solemn place, so it is recommended to wear comfortable and appropriate clothing (avoid very short pants or skirts) and wear good walking shoes, as there will be a lot of walking.
