History and Architecture: A French Noble Summer Retreat That Slept for a Century The history of Ba Na Hills dates back to 1919, when the French colonial government selected this highland to establish a sanatorium resort for officials and military officers to escape the hot summer of Vietnam. At its peak, there were over two hundred villas, an opera house, and wine cellars on the mountain. After experiencing war, this place fell into disrepair in the jungle. It wasn't until modern times, when the Sun Group of Vietnam took over development, invested heavily in restoration and expansion, that this sleeping "City in the Sky" was brought back to the public eye.

Cable Car: The cable car system at Ba Na Hills has won four Guinness World Records, including "the longest single cable car (5,801 meters)" and "the greatest elevation difference between the departure and arrival stations (1,368 meters)." Sitting in the cabin, with the vast primitive forest and waterfalls beneath your feet, the experience is exceptional.
Golden Bridge: Located at an altitude of 1,400 meters, this 150-meter-long metal bridge is gently supported by two giant hands covered in moss, making walking on it feel like strolling on clouds. Since its opening in 2018, it has become synonymous with tourism in Vietnam.
French Village: The core area at the summit perfectly replicates 19th-century French architecture, including the St. Denis Church, squares, fountains, and castle hotels, with every corner being a great spot for photo shoots.
Fantasy Park: The largest indoor amusement park in Vietnam, featuring free fall, rock climbing, 3D/4D/5D cinemas, and various gaming facilities, most of which are included in the ticket price, making it very suitable for family fun.
Linh Ung Pagoda: Renowned alongside the Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Peninsula, this site also features a 27-meter tall white seated Buddha, which appears solemn and majestic amidst the swirling clouds and mist.
Visiting Tips
Climate and Attire: The climate on the mountain changes dramatically, known as "four seasons in one day." The temperature can drop significantly in the early morning, evening, and on cloudy days (possibly down to 15-18 degrees), so be sure to bring a light jacket or windbreaker.
Route Planning (Avoiding Crowds Version):
First Stop: Early in the morning (before 07:30), take the cable car directly to the "Golden Bridge," as this is the golden hour for photos before tour groups arrive.
Second Stop: After photographing the bridge, transfer to the cable car to visit and dine at the "French Village" and "Fantasy Park."
Third Stop: When it gets crowded in the afternoon, consider visiting the quieter Linh Ung Pagoda or the gardens.
Alpine Coaster: This is the most popular outdoor attraction (where you can control the speed of the ride) and usually has a long wait. It is recommended to queue as soon as you arrive in the French Village area or take advantage of lunchtime to enjoy it.
